6 Ways to Find Inspiration

Inspiration is not something you can just wait for. Inspiration, like anything, needs energy behind it in order to present itself.

Today I was playing the avoidance and procrastination game. Finding all sorts of things that “needed” my attention, simply to put off sitting down here and writing.

First, I acknowledged I was indeed procrastinating, so I used my limiting belief removal technique and also took some time to do some yoga, drink some water, put in some laundry, write in my journals, make a list, clean the kitchen, eat my lunch….haha, I think you can see where this was going.

** Just an fyi, the limiting belief freedom technique really works. I will be posting it, hopefully sooner than later.**

But for now, I need to be right here, laptop and intention.

Inspiration is everywhere really, we only need to open our eyes, our hearts and our minds to see and experience it, allow it to flow and take the action by adding energy to it and see where it takes you.

I often find inspiration in quotes.

Quotes have a way to tickle my thoughts and nudge some deeper insights from their simple yet often profound concepts. They prompt me to think deeper and write. Regardless if I agree with them or not, I appreciate the powerful muse they hold for me.

When we are inspired we leave behind excuses and negative thinking, we open up to the freedom of possibilities.

Finding inspiration sometimes takes a little extra effort. Here are 5 ways to open your being to be inspired.

  1. Music. Sad, happy, deep, angry or even simple and sweet melodies can prompt inspiration if you quiet yourself and allow the music to get inside.
  2. Nature. If getting outside is not possible, watching nature videos or looking through outdoor pictures on youtube can do the trick. Of course, nothing can fully replace the actual experience outside offers, but work with what you have.
  3. Art. Looking at art or dabbling in it will undoubtedly spur on further interest. Creativity grows Creativity.
  4. Meditation. Being intentional with meditation focused on finding inspiration has been a huge help for me when I feel stuck or low on new thoughts, ideas or even when discouraged. Setting an intention beforehand of opening your being to be inspired, will bring some unexpected beautiful results.
  5. Sitting down and writing. Take a pen to paper and just start writing. If you have a topic in mind, start there, if not, just let the words start spilling out on the paper in front of you and see where they lead. It can be incredibly interesting and insightful!

Added bonus:

  1. I already mentioned it; Quotes. Or reading period. Even a magazine can offer some wonderful inspiration. Look up “inspiring” on the internet and see what unfolds.

Mostly, be open.

Believe inspiration is all around you and you will begin to see and experience it on a level you likely never knew was possible!
