Freedom is an Inside Job

“The only way to deal with an unfree world, is to become so absolutely free, that your existence is an act of rebellion.” Albert Camus

Now this could easily be called Rebellion. Which is also a core value of mine, so it may be used from time to time here as, like the above quote says, Freedom embraced can look like rebellion to others. And quite honestly, it can easily feel that way to yourself as you step out in the freedom to live life the way your heart calls. It’s exhilarating and feels hugely risky and yes….incredibly rebellious! Embrace it and do it anyway!

Let me say, yet again, freedom comes from within. It is an illusion to believe freedom is only an external experience.

There are countless stories of people who have, or still are, imprisoned experiencing and knowing freedom on levels they have never before understood or known.

Freedom lies with our choices, our beliefs and understanding of what true freedom is. Freedom is yours. It doesn’t have to be given, it only needs to be.

Let’s tie some of these together, shall we?

You have PERMISSION, to take the FREEDOM that is yours in order to live the life you HOPE for and desire!

Wow! Seriously, that is frickin’ powerful and true!

Come on! Let’s be honest here, who doesn’t want to experience this to the very fullest??

Back to Freedom and what it means and how you ignite it in order to live it.

Sometimes it takes baby steps. There are a few out there who can take life by leaps and bounds, grab those truths, throw caution to the wind, and JUMP in feet first and run with them all.

I haven’t seen this is the case with everyone. So one step at a time in one or 2 areas of your life, freedom can grow and spread to be all it is intended to be, as you own it by living it.

Freedom for you. Freedom in you. Freedom with you.  Letting go of the “should’s” in life, the expectations of others, or yourself, the rules which don’t actually engage life, but hinder creativity, freedom to express your heart and thoughts without worry or concern of judgement or what others think. Freedom to say no. Freedom to say yes to yourself and put yourself as a priority. Freedom to not give a rats ass about whether others agree with you or not. Freedom to express love, joy and life in a way that is completely, utterly uniquely you.

Freedom from.

I have told my friends who have been raked across the coals for taking the freedom to say No or step away from social or personal relationships…

“ You are doing this FOR you, not AGAINST them.”

This is a good reminder when you start exercising your right and privilege of freedom. Be led by what feeds you, what gives you peace, what aids in your journey, give yourself kindness in reminding yourself, it’s your life to live, to answer for and to make mistakes with. Your life. Not anyone else’s.

You get to manage you. You get to make choices for you. You have the responsibility to create the life you want, not expecting others to do it for you.

Freedom FOR you, not against them.
